If you are looking for a PS3 yellow light of death fix then you have come to the right place.
I recently had the same problem as you and spent hours on the interent trying to find out how to fix my PS3.
There are many reasons why you may get the yellow light of death - sometimes its just over heating - so try and turn your PS3 for about 20 minutes and turn it back on again.
Also check you power supply isn't over heating - this can effect the voltage going into your PS3 and cause it to also over heat.
If you haven't already - try blowing into your PS3's fan - sometimes you can get dirt stuck in the fan - stopping the system from cooling properly.
If you have tried the steps above and you PS3 is still not working then you have a serious problem.
I expect now is a good time to call Sony... I would tell you not to bother - becuase i already know what they are going to tell you....
If your PS3 is not in the warrenty period you ill have to pay $150 for a repair and wait 6 months for them to send back your PS3. They will tell you if you have a game stuck inside th esystem you may not get it back! (the technician will probably keep it) - and you may only get 3 months warrenty on their repair job.
Give it a try - you never know - you might get someone noce on the phone. I sure didnt and i called 4 times.
Well if everything above fails -or you just dont want to spend $150 repairing your PS3 - then click this link:

The guide that i reviewd is, in my opionion the best one available. I used it to fix my PS3 yellow light of death. It only took me about 1 and a half hours for my yellow light of death fix... the guide is full of videos, step-by-step instructions, everything you need to find out exactly what the problem is and how to fix it quickly.
Oh yeah, they also offer 24/7 support so if you have any questions they can walk you through everything step-by-step.
I asked sony customer support if they could tell me what was wrong with the system, and they refussed to comment - saying they had to look at it first.
Well it turns out there are only a few things that cause the ps3 yellow light of death, or YLOD. They just didnt want to tell me what it was.
